I love this place. Nothing like good ol cooking. Great daily deals. I love eating here with my grandma and it's a great low key atmosphere. Family owned, friendly, clean, and great location.

They're officially closed. You can only treat people a certain way for so long, before it catches up with you. It's a tough business. It's all about taking care of the customer.

The very definition of a quaint neighborhood diner, Palos Diner exists in a completely unpretentious realm of griddles and coffee. You sit, they pour all the coffee you could possibly want, while the "regulars" fill the seats and chat about their neighbors. Big portions of reasonably priced diner fare emerge from the kitchen window. Nothing too fancy, nothing to write home about, but gets that job done. You'll definitely have trouble going hungry here. Fast, friendly service. Leave a nice tip and a smile on the way out!

Hungry? In one of the Palos'? Leaving MVCC? If you're on a budget, need something to eat, this place'll do it for ya. Food's ok, but it's really quiet in here, quite eerie. However, you'll be full, and you'll have spent MAYBE $15 for two people. Not bad.

Let me first say that I can deal with bad food and coffee, but when it comes to service it must be top notch. My biggest complaints with the diner is that I have been coming here since they opened their doors, but every visit seems like a part of the movie "Groundhog Day". The owner never says anything but sit any where you want. Yes I know, I have been here dozens of times. Yet you go there and there are a couple of counter sitters that seem like part of the owners family. The second is their service, like I said before it can be spotty. The weekend waitresses walk around like somebody stored a 2x4 up their backside. In most of the visits here I do tip very well, hoping good service on future visits, I was wrong. During my last visit and I do mean my last visit, my waitress was busy doing everything in her power to avoid our table. I was dying for a coffee refill and she was MIA, and the other waitress (who also has been tipped well by me) just walked on by with the coffee pot. Would it kill you to throw some coffee in a couple of cups as you walk by? My partner asked for hard boiled eggs with their meal, asking for a spare kidney would have been easier. She sat there and argued that hard boiled eggs were impossible to get. What throwing two eggs in a pan of hot water for a couple minutes is some kind of burden.

My brother and I routinely go out to breakfast every weekend as a quest to find the perfect skirt steak an eggs. Yeaaaaah, that would be great; NOT! The steaks were tough and grey on the outside; frozen on the inside; Microwave much? When we sent the steaks back; we were told we are being picky and they charged for the eggs and potatoes rather than apologizing and picking up at least one of the breakfasts. This was not the first visit but will be the last after the poor quality of service and food. This coming from the management, as well? Bad move. Next call will be to the health inspector!!!

This diner is the definition of "A-OK." It is a very normal diner. Nothing is that exceptionally good or bad. If you want a pile of food and don't want to pay too much for it, this would be a fine place to go. If you like people watching, and particularly are interested in watching old people, stop by in the morning. The old people here are hilarious.

My first time dining here with my son last week and I have to say it was awesome! It's a quaint, clean restaurant, the owners were both there and very attentive. I had a reuben and it was by far the very best reuben I've had in I can't even remember how long. Very tasty!!! I opted for a salad with it and it was fresh and quite generous. The server was a sweet young girl, friendly but not overkill. She mentioned she's a vegetarian when I was raving about my reuben. I felt a little awkward. lol Anyway, I give them 5 stars. Great food and appreciative of the business! If you're in the area you have to stop in.

Used to be my favorite breakfast joint until I found a dead spider in my scrambled eggs. smmfh. I'm not even joking. No apology, no discount no nothing. Plus the parking sucks.

Not bad place for a local diner.Family run business. If you going there sunday.Try to make it before 11am after that place is getting crowded with people from the church that is located almost across from them.Food is ok.Service is friendly.Little outdated decor but clean.I cant give them higher than 3 because I dont like the fact that they dont serve fresh fruit with pancakes.Just glazed fruit from a jar.I hate that.

Old school diner. Good food, good prices, good service, & family owned. My kind of place. These places are almost non existent in the city (even though this is not the city) so I was thrilled to find it. $30 for three adults & a baby. And we left super full! The owner is SUPER nice & accommodating.

Great service - decent food - that's about it. It is hard to mess up breakfast - but it is harder to make it stand out. Not disappointed but nothing to write home about.

This is a very simple joint, and it's not that big. Everyone knows each other and the staff is very friendly. The food came out pretty quick, as there were only 8 people in the place, including the help. My skillet was very good. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. My friend had a couple of eggs and he said they hit the spot. It is not a destination point by any means. But if your in the area and want a clean place to eat a decent meal. Palos is the place.

Pretty decent breakfast, but nothing to write home about. But after this restaurant changed names and owners at least four times in the last couple of years, I think this is the best yet. It is a small place, clean, and friendly staff. It's family owned and operated, and it is open for breakfast and lunch only. The best part about this place is that the prices are really cheap.

I was really impressed with my breakfast experience here. This is a very small place and they keep it exceptionally clean. Our waitress was great. She kept my coffee cup filled at all times. Although they were busy on this Sunday morning the food came out quickly and correct. I paid $4.50 for two eggs over easy with bacon, hash browns and toast. They did not skimp on the portions either.

I agree with previous reviews with one reservation. They angrily defended their non-compliance with Cook County's anti-smoking ordinance. Turns out they are exempt per local ordinance...
